“The best kind of sleep under heaven above is under a blanket hand made with love”
Our mission is to provide new handmade security blankets for seriously ill or traumatized children, prayer shawls to anyone who needs a warm hug & chemo hats & scarfs to cancer patients. Since May 2000, we have delivered over 15,000 items to various locations including Holy Spirit Parishioners, Gaston Memorial Hospital, Levine Dixon Hospice House, Veterans, Holy Angels Catherine's House, and 4 Project Linus Chapters, Amy’s House, and Lincolnton Hospital.
New ladies are welcome to attend any of our meetings. Our ministry meets on the 1st and 3rd, Monday and Thursday each month in PAC Room 7. Monday, we meet from 10:15–11:30 am and Thursday we meet from 6-7 pm. If you are unable to make it to one of our meetings, please reach out to Margaret for opportunities to work on projects at home.
If it has been a while since you knitted or crocheted, we are more than happy to help you renew your skills. If you want to learn any of these skills, we would be happy to teach you. Just bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks with a willing heart. If you do not have knitting needles or crochet hooks, we have extras to lend you.
Besides crocheting, knitting, and sewing there are other volunteer opportunities in this ministry that do not require those skills. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please reach out to Margaret Carpenter (704) 345-5133 to discuss the opportunities or come to one of our meetings.
