Sacraments For All Ages
Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion
Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion traditionally starts in first grade and consists of two consecutive years of Faith Formation Classes either with the parish or in Catholic School. Students celebrate their Sacraments in their second year provided they have met their requirements.
Older Students (OCIA) who are in 3rd grade or higher who wish to prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion can contact Faye Nye to discuss the best preparation options for their child.
2nd grade Catholic School students receive their Faith Formation at Catholic School. However, parent meetings and retreats will need to be completed here at their home parish. Registration is required.
Please contact Faye Nye at [email protected] if you have any questions, financial concerns or are willing to volunteer.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation Preparation is traditionally a three-year journey traditionally starting in 6th grade which includes both Faith Formation (Growing in their Faith) and Ministry (Living their Faith). Students celebrate their Sacrament of Confirmation in Year 3 (8th grade or older).
1. Growing in their Faith: All Confirmation students (Year 1 through Year 3) are required to participate in a Faith Formation Program at Holy Spirit Church (either Weekly Classes or Family Catechesis) or attending a Catholic School. Registration is required.
2. Living their Faith: Students will be expected to demonstrate how they Live Their Faith through attending Church or diocesan Ministry Events or serving others at the Church or in their communities.
Catholic School Students: are required to register using the Catholic School Form.
Older Students desiring the Sacraments: Please contact Faye Nye at [email protected] to discuss the best options for continuing your child’s Sacrament journey (Weekly Classes, Teen OCIA etc.)
Adults desiring the Sacraments: Holy Spirit offers a OCIA program for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic or Catholics who are in need of receiving their Confirmation. This program is also opened for any Catholics who wish to explore their Catholic Faith. For more information on the OCIA program, contact Faye Nye at [email protected].
